LibGDX Texture-Packer Gui gets updated

Nov 23, 2011 by     10 Comments    Posted under: Desktop applications, LibGDX TexturePacker Gui

Hello everyone,

I decided that the Texture-Packer GUI deserved a little update, so there it is: release 2.4
Some of the new (visible) things include:

  • Support for project files (request by arielsan): you can now save the input and output directories as well as the options as a single project file. This should help everyone to share configurations with their teammates.
  • Support for the latest (and greatest) texture packer library of the libgdx framework. Missing options have been added.
  • A brand new UI, for visual consistence with the other tools dedicated (or not) to libgdx.
  • All reported bugs were fixed.

Since projects have been added, I made a few changes to the command-line arguments, be sure to update if you use them (they are listed in the google code project page).

Special thanks to arielsan from Gemserk for its beta-testing of this revision, which quickly leaded to a 2.4.1 release :p

    • Hello,

This tool is a user interface for LibGDX TexturePacker class. Learn how to use this class and you’ll understand how to use the tool :) A description can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/libgdx/wiki/TexturePacker

Basically, you need to set the input directory where your images are located, an output directory where the resulting pack will be generated, and click on the “pack!” button, that’s all.
